Massive sweep deports hundreds...
...more to come on this issue. But for now take a look at this LA Times story that was also featured on NPR-KCRW's "Which Way L.A."
While the U.S. Navy base was still stationed in Manila, my father and his brothers became citizens of this country by joining the service nearly 25 years ago. My mother, the youngest of 8 children, left her life across the Pacific so that she could be with the man she loved. All of our lives together, which also includes my younger brother, R.J., started in a small one-bedroom apartment in Oxnard, CA. I guess the rest is history.
